MIKE HILL joins the Owasso Band staff as an assistant director in the fall of 2026! 

Mr. Hill is a percussion performer, educator, and arranger from Tulsa. He is a 2023 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, where he received his bachelor’s degree in instrumental music education. At UCO, Mr. Hill was involved in the wind symphony, orchestra, percussion ensemble, marching band, jazz band, and pit orchestra for musical theatre. Since 2024, he has been an assistant band director and percussion instructor for Collinsville Public Schools. 

Mr. Hill was a performing member with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2020-2021) and the Oklahoma City Thunder drumline (2018-2019). Additionally, he was a performer at the 2020 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) virtual clinic. 

Since 2022, Mr. Hill has been the battery caption head at Zephyrus Drum and Bugle Corps, while he also has served as a battery tech for Resistance Indoor Percussion since 2023. Along with his teaching roles in the state of Oklahoma, Mr. Hill has also composed and arranged music for high school and collegiate level marching band shows since 2020.
