Volunteer opporunities
Band Banquet: Designing and creating decorations, preparation of banquet programs, selling tickets and anything else necessary for this event.
Chaperones: Chaperones for local band events
Concession Stand: Volunteers working in the concession stand during the fall football and basketball games. There will be separate signup for each concession opportunity.
Golf Tournament: The annual Golf Tournament at Bailey Ranch Golf Course which takes place in the spring.
Hospitality and Food: Coordinate, purchase and arrange to serve food and refreshments to band members, chaperones and/or guests at band events and competitions.
Merchandise: Help sell and design Owasso Bands merchandise at concerts, meetings and other events.
Nurses: Willing to volunteer as a nurse for trips.
Owasso Chamber Summit: Supervising students from our area for a 4-day camp in June.
Plant Sales: Plants are delivered at the end of each fundraising period, and we need a group to help unload, organize and work at pick up.
Pit Crew: Help load and unload instruments and percussion equipment for marching season for field performances.
Props: Coordinate, build and handle props at shows and contests
Publicity and Photography: This committee assists the Publicity officer with getting our fundraising activities and band events to the parents and public when necessary. Also, they help take pictures throughout the year at all the events.
Uniform Room: Responsible for organizing, fitting, cleaning, and checking in the marching and concert uniforms.
Restaurant Fundraising: This crew will help the coordinator promote and be on hand to help fulfill any requirements of the restaurant.
Senior O's: We have a Senior Night at one of the last home football games. All the seniors are recognized, and each parent decorates a huge, cardboard "O" for their senior. We need volunteers to help prepare, assist and clean up on the Senior O work times. This takes place during the football season.
Sewing: There are several sewing needs throughout the year with flags and uniforms.
Smileys: All the senior parents paint a ceramic marching figure, called a Smiley, for their child. These are presented to each senior at Band Banquet. We need people willing to assist in set up, advice and instruction for other parents, and clean up. This takes place during the second semester.
Student Fundraising: Be available to assist with preparation, distribution, and pick up of student fundraising materials.
Water & Popsicles: We will prepare 3rd quarter water and water for games and contests. We distribute popsicles at pre-season band, Saturday rehearsals, during Fall break rehearsals, and during spring marching clinic.
