Kyle Wiemar has been teaching in Owasso since 2019. His responsibilities include directing one of the seventh grade bands, directing one of the eighth grade bands, teaching sixth grade beginners, and assisting with the Pride of Owasso Marching Band.
After studying music education at the University of Oklahoma, Mr. Wiemar began his teaching career in Yukon, Oklahoma from 2009 to 2015. In 2015, the Yukon 8th Grade Band was selected as an Oklahoma Music Educators Association Honor Band. That same year he was named Yukon Middle School’s Teacher of the Year. From 2015 to 2019, Mr. Wiemar taught in Tomball, Texas as a junior high band director in the Tomball Independent School District. In 2016, he opened Creekside Park Junior High School and was named one of its first A+ Teachers of the Year.
Mr. Wiemar enjoys spending time with his immediate family who reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is the uncle to two wonderful nieces and two amazing nephews.
